How I got here.
My journey through the fitness industry.
My why…
There was a time when I was totally obsessed with fitness, for fitness sake. I channelled all my focus into getting stronger, fitter and becoming a more rounded athlete.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realised the reach of fitness extends far beyond heavy dumbbells and fast 5kms.
Fitness is a natural antidepressant and a brilliant tool for mental health management.
Fitness allows you to keep moving with strength and ease as you age.
Fitness unlocks doors you didn’t know existed.
Now I believe in fitness for life’s sake. I’ve come to realise that without strong fitness habits in place, you are holding yourself back from reaching your life’s full potential.
This drives me daily.

My Journey…
My love of fitness stems from playing rugby at university. I played within a semi professional environment that incorporated a full strength and conditioning program that left me hooked.
I was amazed by how three hour-long sessions a week could have such a dramatic effect on my mental and physical well-being.
I can remember being in those cohesive environments, fully immersed in the process, hoping that some day I would pass on these methods to others.
During those early days, I learnt to trust the process. It became crystal clear that the journey was more important than the destination, that progress was more important than perfection.
I took these lessons with me as I left University and began to learn my art.
There was a lot of trial and error, experimenting with new programs and new ways of training - from aesthetics, performance and holistics to any kind of sport you can imagine. I knew that having this experience in my pocket would only make me a far more rounded coach. I am a true advocate of learning new skills as an adult.
More recently I found my love for Triathlon. A sport which grabbed me with both hands and lured me in.
When I began, I hadn’t swum since I was 8 years old, I didn’t own a bike and had never run more than 200M.
Swansea Triathlon 2016
Triathlon has taught me that it’s empowering to learn new skills, and that it’s ok to put yourself into vulnerable positions. Take swimming for example. Getting into a pool full of people and not knowing how to swim was scary.
Overcoming that initial fear made the reward of completing the Ironman swim just 18 months later extremely exhilarating.
Becoming comfortable with discomfort breeds resilience. Triathlon taught me that.
How I train now.
Now, I class myself as a hybrid athlete.
My week is completely varied- Strength, Swim-Bike-Run, Olympic Lifting, Metabolic Conditioning - I like to train for every inevitability.
If my fitness ethos appeals to you, I’d be thrilled to teach you everything I’ve learned.
